Pineapple Soursop Juice
juicer
blender
1 soursop
1 ½ cup chopped pineapple
2 limes
3 ½ cup water
Note: if you want your soursop more smoothie and thicker way, just add less water
Peel the soursop, remove the centre “heart” part. Break or chop the soursop into a couple of pieces to remove the seeds
Peel pineapple and chop it into smaller pieces
Squeeze lime
Blend pineapple, soursop, lime juice and water in the blender. Serve with a lime or pineapple garnish
The optional rum in can be anything from a tablespoon to flavor or a shot for a unique cocktail. Try different spices like cinnamon in the soursop with milk. Herbs like mint and basil would work with lime.
Benefits of Soursop
Soursop is low in calories, a good source of fiber, high in vitamin C, fatty acids, and antioxidants. These and other nutrients work to reduce inflammation. Soursop has other compounds that improve the healthy digestion of starch which can help with blood sugar regulation and other health issues
There have been studies that found cancer-fighting elements in soursop. These studies are promising but extended research and human trials have been very limited. There are soursop extracts and pills that are sold as a definitive cancer treatment. This was so widespread at one time that several counties now have laws against claiming soursop as a cancer treatment. Be sure to take any over-the-top claims with a grain of salt while the research continues.
